How do I log a feeding?
Open SourdoughKeeper and tap "Just fed it" on the Starter tab. A feeding entry is created with the current timestamp, and the countdown resets immediately.
How does the countdown know when my next feed is?
The countdown uses your current storage state. Room temperature defaults to 24 hours. Fridge defaults to 7 days. Toggle the storage state on the Starter tab and the countdown recalculates automatically.
How does the hydration calculator work?
Go to the Hydration tab. Enter your flour weight in grams and your target hydration percentage. The app calculates the water weight in real time. Tap "Save preset" to store that ratio for future use.
The Watch app is not showing the countdown. What should I do?
Make sure both the iPhone app and the Watch app are open at least once after installation. SourdoughKeeper uses WCSession to sync — both apps need to have been launched at least once for the initial sync to complete.
I did not receive my feeding reminder. Why?
Check that notifications are enabled for SourdoughKeeper in iOS Settings. The reminder is a local notification — it requires notification permission to be granted. No internet connection or push server is involved.
Is there an iCloud backup or sync?
No. All data is stored locally on your device in v1.0. If you replace your iPhone, your feeding history will not transfer automatically.
I bought the app but it is asking me to purchase again.
SourdoughKeeper is paid-up-front ($1.99) with no in-app purchases. If you see an unexpected purchase prompt, please email cped@outlook.com with your App Store receipt.
Will there be more features?
Yes. Planned for future updates: multiple starter profiles, photo log per feeding, iCloud sync, and Watch face complication support (v1.1). Existing buyers receive all updates at no extra cost.
