Privacy Policy — DailyLapse

Zero data collected. DailyLapse does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data outside your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no analytics SDK.
Overview
DailyLapse ("we", "our", "the app") is a daily one-second video diary app. Every video clip you record stays on your device, in the app's local storage. Nothing is ever uploaded anywhere.
What We Collect
Nothing. DailyLapse collects zero personal data. There is no account creation, no email address, no name, no analytics, and no advertising identifier.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data lives exclusively on your iPhone and is never transmitted anywhere:
- Video clips — the one-second recordings you capture each day, stored in the app's private local storage
- Thumbnails — generated from your clips for the calendar view, stored locally
- App preferences — capture settings, reminder time, onboarding state — stored in local app storage
- Stitched movies — composited MP4 files written to your Photos library only when you explicitly tap "Save to Photos"
Permissions
- Camera — used to record your one-second daily clip. Never used in the background. No footage is uploaded.
- Microphone — used to record audio alongside your video clip. Audio stays on your device.
- Photos Library (write-only) — used solely to save your stitched timelapse movie to your Photos library when you explicitly request it. DailyLapse does not read your Photos library.
- Notifications — used to send you one optional daily reminder to record. Scheduled locally via UNUserNotificationCenter. No push notification server, no APNs entitlement.
Third-Party SDKs
None. DailyLapse contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. There is no Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel, no AdMob, no Meta SDK, and no RevenueCat.
Data Retention
All data is on your device. Deleting the app removes all clips and preferences. Stitched movies saved to your Photos library remain there under your full control.
Children
DailyLapse is rated 4+ and contains no content inappropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above. We will not retroactively reduce your privacy protections.
